Bamboo is much more eco-friendly to make clothing from than most other materials. It uses far less water and grows much faster than other materials and doesn't need pesticides to do so. Compared with cotton it only needs 10% of the land area for the same yield. As well as that bamboo clothing is much softer than other materials, it's moisture managing and is great for allergy prone skin!
TOP TIP: It's more eco-friendly to wash your clothes at 30 degrees. It's also much greener to hang items to dry instead of using tumble driers where possible.
TOP TIP: When your clothes come to the end of their life make sure they're disposed of properly in a clothing bank. Or if you think they've still got life in them they could be passed on or go to a charity shop.
ON THE HIGH STREET
Bamboo clothing is yet to become common on the high streets but we hope in time that more businesses will start selling this eco-friendly alternative. If you know of any high street shops selling bamboo clothing please get in contact so they can be added to our site!
TOP TIP: If you're shopping online and buying more than one item then it's more eco-friendly ordering all items from the same website in one order to reduce the impact of packaging and delivery.
